A Fire Alarm ELV BIM Modeler is responsible for creating, coordinating, and maintaining 3D BIM models for fire alarm and extra-low voltage (ELV) systems in construction projects.

Job Description - Fire Alarm ELV BIM Modeler
  • Develop accurate 3D BIM models for fire alarm and ELV systems using Autodesk Revit.
  • Prepare coordinated shop drawings, installation drawings, and as-built drawings.
  • Model fire alarm devices, cable trays, conduits, containment systems, and associated equipment in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate with MEP disciplines (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural) to resolve clashes using Autodesk Navisworks.
  • Participate in clash detection meetings and implement design revisions based on coordination outcomes.
  • Generate schedules, quantities, and material take-offs from BIM models.
  • Ensure BIM models comply with project BIM Execution Plans (BEP), client standards, and industry best practices.
  • Review consultant drawings and specifications to ensure model accuracy and completeness.
  • Support engineers and project managers by providing BIM deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain model revisions, documentation, and version control.
  • Collaborate with site teams to address installation-related issues and update models accordingly.
Key Skills
  • Autodesk Revit (MEP)
  • AutoCAD
  • BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (preferred)
  • Fire Alarm System Design and Layout
  • ELV Systems (CCTV, Access Control, Public Address, Structured Cabling, Intercom, BMS interfaces)
  • Shop Drawing Preparation
  • Clash Coordination
  • Good understanding of NFPA, local fire codes, and BIM standards
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in BIM modeling for Fire Alarm and ELV systems.
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm standards (such as NFPA 72) and project coordination processes.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
