Overview

Science Teacher - Secondary School (British Curriculum) - GEMS Founders School AlMizhar, Dubai. The role begins in August 2025 and is ideal for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators who are passionate about inspiring students and contributing to a thriving international school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, high quality lessons in Science based on the British curriculum up to GCSE level.
  • Use creative and differentiated instructional strategies to cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Participate actively in curriculum development, departmental planning, and assessment moderation.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and engagement.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom culture that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and mindfulness.
  • Provide regular feedback to students and communicate progress with parents.
  • Contribute to the school's extracurricular and enrichment programmes, community initiatives, and events.
  • Uphold GEMS Education's values and policies, ensuring student safety and welfare.
  • Participate in staff meetings, CPD programmes, and contribute to school improvement planning.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science with PGCE/PGDE or a BEd with a specialization in Science.
  • Proven experience teaching Science at the secondary level (GCSE/IGCSE); experience with A level is a plus.
  • Knowledge of British curriculum standards and best practices in science instruction.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and a collaborative team player.
  • ECTs are welcome and supported through BSO accredited NQT training programmes.
  • Commitment to holistic education and involvement in co curricular activities.
