Role Summary

The Sales Manager (SM) coaches, leads, develops and guides Oncology Product Specialists, driving improved performance and capabilities in generating clinical demand for Oncology brands. The SM identifies business opportunities, presents value proالمنصبs aligned to stakeholder needs, recommends solutions, and drives business development. The SM manages individual territories/tumours, delivering sales results for those areas and developing strategic relationships with the Multi‑Disciplinary Team (MDT) Decision Making Unit (DMU) and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for any part of AZs Oncology portfolio.

What you’ll do Develop territory and account strategy and plans:
  • Identify and prioritise accounts with strategic value to AZ (e.g., hospitals, supply pharmacies).
  • Develop strategies and tactics for optimal resource alالموقع in alignment with the Oncology TA and brand strategy within the governmental and regulatory environment.
  • Work with individual Sales Specialists to develop appropriate, challenging goals within each territory/tumour.
Lead, coach and manage team of Product Specialists:
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with account teams to manage and motivate effectively.
  • Review team and individual performance; provide honest and constructive feedback, recognise and encourage good performance.
  • Lead coaching and enable development of team members’ skills and knowledge, including oncology expertise and engagement skills.
  • Set short and long‑term measurable goals and expectations, track progress, and manage team and individual skill development.
  • Identify and tackle challenges and issues within the team or individual team members.
  • Act as a role model, clearly communicating and reinforcing AZ values in leading the team.
Build strategic partnerships with key accounts:
  • Support Sales team in engaging stakeholders in dialogue about approved indications, product efficacy/safety profiles and treatment protocols to support on‑label prescribing for appropriate patients.
  • Build, develop and manage long‑term external relationships with senior stakeholders within high‑value accounts.
  • Share stakeholder, environmental and market specific insight and information within AZ to strengthen activities such as product development, marketing and sales efforts.
Support capability building in the healthcare ecosystem:
  • Build knowledge of AZs overall Oncology value proالمنصب and product indicated data among Sales Specialists and external stakeholders in the MDT and DMU.
  • Support Sales Specialists in utilising various communication approaches to build knowledge in the MDT/DMU.
  • Conduct science‑based discussions with HCPs as per approved indications, arrange multidisciplinary workshops for physicians, coordinate speaker programmes with physician advocates and KOLs, and support oncology nurses on relevant training (e.g., chemotherapy).
Ensure compliance:
  • Complete all training requirements, including product examinations, and ensure compliance among Sales Specialists.
  • Be compliant with all external regulations and internal policies; enforce compliance within the internal team.
  • Ensure understanding of the AZ Code of Conduct, External Interactions Policy, Standards and سياسة الخصوصية, and regulations regarding interactions with patients.
Essential for the role
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in Oncology or related Specialty Care.
  • Proven track record of engaging and developing lasting relationships with key stakeholders in complex clinical environments.
  • Strong leadership attributes, ability to set direction, generate commitment, balance short and long‑term needs, resolve issues constructively and demonstrate effective cross‑functional team leadership.
  • Proven track record of effective coaching and development at individual and team levels.
  • Proven strategic thinking, judgment and negotiation skills.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing compelling account strategies.
  • Experience in Sales Management.
Desirable for the role
  • Key account management expertise.
  • Healthcare bachelor's degree.
