The Humanities Teacher - Student Development role supports students during important stages of academic, social, and personal growth. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons that help learners understand people, places, cultures, history, communities, and the wider world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver inspiring humanities lessons that help students succeed and achieve strong learning outcomes.
  • Plan engaging learning experiences that meet curriculum requirements and respond to the needs of different learners.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, curious, and motivated.
  • Encourage students to think critically about history, geography, culture, society, identity, and global issues.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow teachers to design lessons, share resources, and strengthen curriculum delivery.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally at all levels to support student learning, wellbeing, and progress.

Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Humanities, History, Geography, Social Studies, Education, or a related subject.
  • B.Ed., PGCE, or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification is preferred.
  • Previous experience teaching humanities or social studies in a school environment is an advantage.
  • Strong interest in educating the whole child through academic, social, and personal development.
  • Ability to deliver inclusive and engaging lessons that support different learning needs.
  • Good understanding of curriculum planning, classroom routines, student assessment, and progress monitoring.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and school leaders.
  • Positive, flexible, and solution-focused approach to school life.
  • Ability to build respectful relationships across a diverse and multicultural school community.
