Role Context

This المنصب connects temporary works engineering with fabrication and construction execution. Accurate formwork drawings are essential to maintaining structural dimensions, safe working platforms, efficient climbing sequences, and predictable concrete cycles on high-rise developments. The Draftsman will provide detailed technical documentation while controlling revisions and coordinating changes between engineering, fabrication, and site teams. The role is particularly suited to an AutoCAD professional seeking deeper exposure to jumpform and advanced high-rise formwork systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings for proprietary, self-climbing, crane-supported climbing, and bespoke formwork systems.
  • Produce General Arrangement drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly details, and formwork layouts.
  • Convert approved engineering concepts into clear and buildable technical documentation.
  • Assist Structural and Design Engineers in developing practical and economical formwork solutions.
  • Prepare technical sketches, component details, material schedules, and supporting engineering documents.
  • Provide drafting assistance for structural calculations and temporary works engineering packages.
  • Review architectural, structural, reinforcement, and concrete drawings before developing formwork details.
  • Verify dimensions, openings, concrete geometry, reinforcement interfaces, and other information affecting formwork arrangements.
  • Coordinate drawing requirements with Structural Engineers, Project Engineers, Site Engineers, and fabrication teams.
  • Incorporate approved engineering changes, consultant comments, and verified site requirements into drawing revisions.
  • Maintain accurate drawing registers, revision histories, issuance records, and associated document controls.
  • Monitor drawing priorities against construction and fabrication schedules.
  • Ensure current drawing revisions are issued to the relevant project teams without unnecessary delay.
  • Respond to technical drawing queries from fabrication and construction personnel.
  • Coordinate modifications resulting from site conditions or engineering revisions.
  • Detail anchors, brackets, rails, shutters, platforms, supports, and other components associated with climbing formwork.
  • Ensure drawings clearly communicate interfaces between temporary works systems and permanent concrete structures.
  • Incorporate working platforms, access arrangements, edge protection, and relevant safety provisions into drawings where applicable.
  • Consider erection, climbing, dismantling, and construction sequencing when developing details.
  • Maintain consistent dimensions, annotations, references, symbols, and drawing presentation standards.
  • Support drawing reviews and technical coordination meetings.
  • Assist with resolution of discrepancies between architectural, structural, reinforcement, and formwork documentation.
  • Manage multiple drawing packages while maintaining accuracy and delivery deadlines.
  • Contribute to improvements in drafting standards, drawing quality, and technical documentation practices.
  • Support preparation of revised and final record drawings when required.
  • Continue developing technical knowledge of jumpform, climbing systems, temporary works, and high-rise construction methods.
Ideal Profile

The successful candidate should hold a Diploma in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or an equivalent technical qualification and bring at least 3 years of relevant construction drafting experience. Hands-on experience preparing formwork shop drawings is essential. Strong AutoCAD capability and the ability to interpret structural, reinforcement, architectural, and concrete drawings are important for successful performance. Experience with PERI, Doka, or equivalent proprietary formwork systems is preferred. Exposure to high-rise projects, jumpform, self-climbing systems, modular formwork, or temporary works will provide a strong advantage. Candidates should demonstrate excellent visualization and detailing ability, accuracy in managing drawing revisions, and sufficient understanding of construction methodology to produce drawings that can be practically implemented by fabrication and site teams.
