Heavy Bus Driver

Job Overview:

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Heavy Bus Driver to join our construction company. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting laborers and staff between the camp and the construction site, adhering to scheduled times and routes. The Heavy Bus Driver will play a crucial role in maintaining the punctuality and safety of our workforce transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely drive a heavy bus to transport laborers and staff between the camp and the construction site daily.
• Adhere to scheduled routes and ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
• Report any mechanical issues, damages, or necessary repairs to the maintenance team immediately.
• Ensure all passengers are seated and adhere to safety protocols, including wearing seatbelts when required.
• Keep the bus clean and maintain a tidy and safe environment for passengers.
• Complete transportation logs and records as required.
• Assist passengers in boarding and exiting the bus, especially those with special needs or heavy equipment.
• Follow all local traffic laws and company policies to maintain a high standard of driving safety.
• Coordinate with the Transportation Supervisor regarding any schedule changes, delays, or other relevant information.

Qualifications:

• Valid heavy vehicle driving license (must meet local regulatory requirements for a heavy bus).
• Proven experience as a heavy bus driver, preferably in a construction or industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.
• Good communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
• Ability to manage time effectively and adhere to schedules.
• Must be physically fit and able to assist passengers with their belongings or equipment.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience transporting workers in a construction or industrial environment.
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
• First aid certification is a plus.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time position with work hours as per site transportation requirements.
• Must be available for early morning starts, late finishes, and occasional weekend work.
